Virginia E. Richards, 89, died peacefully on August 20, 2018 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, of complications from Alzheimer’s. Ginny, as she preferred, the daughter of Lloyd and Ardith VanDeBurg, was born on January 6, 1929 in Grainton, Nebraska.
Searching for work, Ginny’s parents, relocated to the Snake River Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1930 during the great depression. Ginny graduated from high school and started college in Laramie where she met and married John Richards. They were married for 65 years.
Ginny and John traveled the world while he was a pilot in the United States Air Force. They moved in 1996 to La Grande, Oregon and to Post Falls, Idaho in 2010 where they both resided until passing.
Even though her memory faded as the years passed, she still took joy in life and loved to tell stories and laugh. She will be greatly missed by all.
Ginny is survived by her two children, son Jim Richards of La Grande, Oregon and daughter Susan (Irv) Walker of Post Falls, Idaho; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be by the Eastern Star at Elliott Cemetery in Wilson on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at 10:30 A.M.
