Roger D. Cameron, 83, passed away May 20th in his home in Jackson, Wyoming.
Roger was born in Torrington, Wyoming to Lee and Florence Cameron. He later moved with the family to Lance Creek, Wyoming and then to Billings and Bridger, Montana. After graduating from Bridger HS in 1950, he enlisted in the United States Army Signal Corps. Following his military service, Roger worked in telecommunications for Mountain Bell and AT&T. He retired after 30 years of employment and made his home in Jackson, Wyoming.
Roger continued to enjoy hunting, camping, boating and snowmobiling well into his retirement. He could be seen almost daily out on the National Elk Refuge and took great pride in keeping the road to the refuge free of litter and other trash.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carma Cameron Wham, and brother-in-law, Steve Simon. He is survived by his sisters, Cecile Cameron Simon and Carol Cameron Brink (Dean), and brother-in-law, Howard Wham. Roger was a generous and favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a unique individual and will be sorely missed.
The family plans to have a private burial in Bridger, Montana.
