It is with profound joy that we share the peaceful transition into the light of Marsha Elaine (Dawn) Covington during the evening of Tuesday, September 3, 2024. A beloved Messenger of the Hierarchies of Light, mentor, teacher and friend to many around the world, Dr. Dawn, after a lifetime of dedicated service to the ascended masters, was called home to flourish now on the plane of the saints.

Dawn’s impact on the people around her was evident. Perpetually driven to find new means to reach souls with what they needed in the way they needed to receive it, she used the skills learned throughout her professional career in the art of communication, persuasion, marketing and broadcasting, as well as curriculum and course design for adult learners, to help others find a higher, special stirring within themselves of the spiritual being they truly are.

Her life was quite remarkable. Early highlights included being a child opera singer protégée, who was given the honor of performing Let There Be Peace on Earth, and Let it Begin with Me for then President John F. Kennedy; winning the “Lion’s Club Award for Best Public Speaker in Sacramento,” at age 17; and while in her 20s being the first of only two women in the United States to be trained in engineering by the federal government and given a full-time, prime-time radio show, which became so successful, she was sought after by networks in other cities.

Marsha’s career, however, took a turn when she realized that what she enjoyed most was teaching. This set her on a track to study with and work directly for the founders of an innovative method of working with adult learners to accelerate their personal and professional growth. While working on her Masters and Doctorate, Marsha became an expert in that theory. Like the directors of her program, she advanced the field by discovering and perfecting very effective ways of encouraging and assisting adults of all ages to soar by not only treating students with great respect while honoring them for their continued growth but also by believing in their innate understanding and capacity to be self-taught. This philosophy and practice continued to drive her own learning, growing and teaching efforts.

After graduating from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT with her Ed.D, Marsha was sought after by a number of universities where she worked until settling in at Capella University where she worked for many years enjoying her assignments as curriculum developer, instructor and mentor for their online community.

Marsha considered her most meaningful and valuable service to be as a messenger for the ascended masters, who are the saints in heaven. This role was the modern-day equivalent of the Biblical prophets, who were chosen by God to speak for God. Renamed Dawn by the ascended hosts, she opened her own small, non-profit school, New Wisdom University, where she and the masters taught the application of various esoteric traditions as well as new sciences to further the spiritual development of the global student body and offer solutions for dealing with societal problems.
