Mark Kusek

Mark Justin Kusek, age 23, born on August 9, 1989 in Plymouth, MA, lost his 17 month-long battle with colon cancer on December 1st, 2012. Mark began vacationing in Jackson Hole with his family in 2005. Prior to moving to Jackson with his parents 4 years ago, he grew up in and graduated from Duxbury High School in Duxbury, MA. Before his illness, he was a student attending the University of Utah in Salt Lake City studying computer graphics and film. He enjoyed many outdoor sports and activities, and traveled with his family and friends across many parts of N. America. He combined his love of snowboarding, skateboarding, photography and video into producing various action sport videos. His love of winter sports took him to summer snow sport camps at Mt. Hood, Oregon. He competed in New England regional USASA snowboarding competitions in his teens. Mark leaves his parents, Jane and Charles Kusek, of Teton Village, WY. He also leaves a grandmother, 7 aunts and uncles and 13 cousins in Massachusetts. Mark will be greatly missed by his friends from MA, NH and UT. His family will visit with friends on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm at the Valley Mortuary in Jackson. Memorial gatherings in Springfield, MA and Salt Lake are being planned for the spring. His parents wish to thank everyone at St. John's Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute who helped in his struggles against cancer.
