Marius Parmelee Hanford, IV , 40, passed away on August 24, 2016 in Wilson, Wyoming. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 16, 1975 to Marius P Hanford, III, and BJ Hanford. His artistic interests were apparent as a child: he performed with his parents as a member of their dance company and then went on to attend the New York City Ballet School, where he performed in several ballets choreographed by George Balanchine and Peter Martins. He attended Jackson Hole HS for three years and then graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Traverse City, MIchigan. He attended DuPaul University in Chicago, IL, where he studied drama. He also trained extensively in stage combat, and worked in San Francisco choreographing combat for live theatre productions. He then moved to New York where, in 2006, he received an innovative theatre award for outstanding choreography for Living Dead in Denmark. Marius worked as an actor, certified stage combatant, fight director, and manager for the New York City Opera Company at Lincoln Center. In NY, he also worked for J & M's Special Effects. He returned to the Jackson area in 2010, where he volunteered extensively with Riot Act, Inc., worked with all the local theatre companies, and guest taught and choreographed for Jackson Hole HS. He also choreographed the shoot-outs for Jackson and Dubois. His other interests included comics, pop culture, water sports, and making people laugh. He is survived by his parents, extended family, and partner, Macey Mott.
