Teske, 96, Loved To Travel
Margaret Helen (Peg) Teske was born in Mankato, Minnesota on August 26, 1919 to the late Mathias Mickelson (a local Banker) and Inga Johnson. She had an older brother and two older sisters. Peg received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in 1941. After a long courtship due to college, she married Wilmer Edwin Teske (WET) on June 12, 1943 and had two children, Charles (Janine) and Barbara (Bob). She had 3 grandchildren, Christie, Kipp and Carrie, and 2 great grandchildren, Oliver and Cohen whom she adored.
Peg was a Librarian, teacher and active in the Lutheran Church and other nonprofits.
Peg and her husband loved to travel going to China, Hawaii, most states and on a African photo safari. After her husband passed, she remained in their tri-level house of 40 some years in Arlington Heights, IL until this wasn’t viable. She then moved into the Moorings near her home. In February, 2013 she moved to St John’s Living Center in Jackson, Wyoming to be closer to her son Charles and his family. The greatest part of the trip according to Peg was deplaning at Jackson Air Port. Peg needed a wheel chair so she went down the stairs from the plane head -first strapped in a gurney!
While Peg suffered some dementia and physical problems late in life, she really enjoyed people and life. She passed peacefully in the early morning of February 25. 2016 in her sleep at the age of 96 – three years after moving to Jackson. Peg’s family want to thank all the great people at the St. John’s Living Center and Hospital for making her stay enjoyable and comfortable.
Condolences may be sent to Peg's family through valleymortuary@gmail.com and this website.
