Leda Eleuteria Zilinskas

Leda was born in Chicago on October 9, 1960, to Eleuterius and Birute Zilinskas of Lithuania. She was highly accomplished, earning a BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana and an MA from Harvard University. In addition, she studied international business at the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, George Washington University and American University.

Leda worked in the defense industry for many years and was promoted to Vice President in an international capacity. She built her reputation on accountability and performance and was known by her peers as diligent, loyal, ethical and compassionate.

As part of her professional duties, Leda experienced multiple war zones in Eastern Europe around the time of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. She traveled extensively and spoke many languages.

At the time of her death, Leda served as President of her own consulting firm, ELZ Gruppe, LLC in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to that, she worked as Deputy Director of Intelligence for the US Office of Accountability.

As a young person, Leda attended Lithuanian language Saturday school and girl scouts in the tight-knit Lithuanian community of Marquette Park in Chicago. She was a gifted artist and lover of animals, nature and adventure. She is remembered with great fondness by all who knew and loved her.
