Joseph Kravetsky

February 10, 1958 — January 4, 2022

On January 4th, the town of Jackson suddenly lost a beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, Joe Kravetsky, age 63.  He was born in South Plainfield, NJ and moved to Jackson in 1992.  Joe got his start in building and remodeling from his Dad.  He had a very successful career in NJ prior to moving to Jackson.

FAITH: Joe was a man of great faith, so much so, that earlier on the day he passed he spoke the words “I am right with the Lord and if it is my time to go, it’s my time to go.  I am ready”.

No truer words were ever spoken as Joe went to heaven that same day.

Joe loved reading the Bible and sharing his love of God with others.

FAMILY: Joe married the love of his life, Janet.  His heartfelt deep love for his wife of 33 years and both their love of God was at the core of their marriage and evident to all.  Janet helped Joe establish Iron Rock Construction .

His proudest moments were the birth of his sons.

Joseph, his oldest son, had been working side by side with his Dad and carry’s on his legacy in construction.  Jake took the lessons of hard work and determination from his Dad and is applying them at UW studying Engineering on a full ride scholarship. The boy’s love for their Dad is embedded in their hearts forever.

FRIENDS: A lot of people owe a debt of gratitude for the kind and serving spirit Joe used in his every day life.  With his drive and knowhow, he provided many of us with the houses that we are so lucky to have, in such a special place as this.  He was the first to drop whatever he was working on to help you with what you needed done.  When Joe got to the jobsite, things happened fast.  He was a real worker.  The only thing that slowed him down was break.  Break time was one of the more important aspects of the day on the Kravetsky jobsite, who was bringing it, what were they making, who else was sharing in it.  In addition to all his great qualities, Joe was an exceptional baker and enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter during break time.

Joe loved his five years of service with the Jackson Fire Department and also late-night rib cooking with the Hoback Fire Department . He graduated from the Wyoming Police Academy and even though he was the oldest recruit, Joe finished first in his class in the physical fitness portion.

In his spare time, he loved hiking with his wife and dog, and playing golf with his family.

Whether you knew Construction Joe, Bus Driver Joe or Fireman Joe, he was a great friend, a talented leader, a devoted husband and father filled with integrity, honesty and passion for life.   Joe got such joy from all his four legged friends especially his current and beloved dog, Jersey Girl.

In addition to his wife, Janet and his son Joseph (McKenzie and their 3 children) and Jake, Joe leaves behind, two brother’s Roman from WY, Stanley (Lisa) from NJ, two sisters, Sam (Allan) from WY and Franci (Pat) from OR, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne from NY and his parents Roman and Mary.  Joe leaves behind many other great family members and friends near and far.  His life long friends in New Jersey meant the world to him.  He did not let distance end these relationships and their many conversations ending in “I love you”.

Joe laughed until he cried, talked until he died and Heaven will be a little louder now.  A Celebration of Life will be planned this summer and we invite everyone who knew him to attend.  In lieu of flowers, Joe would be honored that any donations be directed to Jackson Fire and EMS.

We will miss you deeply dear brother.
