James "Jim" Nowlin Jr 80 of Jackson passed away June 22, 2023. surrounded by his loved one at the Sage Living Center.
Jim was born on August 3,1942 to James and Helen Nowlin in Oxnard, California. After graduating from high school he went on to study Agricultural Business Management at Cal Poly University where he played semi-pro baseball.
After his graduation he went on to serve his beloved country in the USMC serving in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
After his service in the USMC, he moved to Jackson, Wyoming. Here he met and married Nickie Ross. Shortly after his marriage to Nickie, he started his excavation company and was devoted and hard working.
Jim was passionate about his family and the outdoors.He loved hunting and most of all fishing. He spent as much of his free time fishing with his family and friends. Taking trips as far as Alaska. He was happiest when he was fishing on his boat.
Jim is survived by his wife Nickie, son Buddy (Maria) Nowlin, grandchildren Shayla, Ryan, Mark, Alex, as well as other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Helen, two sisters Kathleen and Jackie, and daughter Tracie Westgard.
Jim will truly be missed his family and friends.
Memorial services will be on Tuesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at the Community Bible Church of Jackson Hole.
