Dennis came to Jackson Hole in 1977 with his best friend, Dennis Jesse, $25 in his backpack and a desire to ski. He never left the valley after that first winter and joined the ranks of the "B' passers who made skiing a lifestyle. In the summer months he ran whitewater trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and would forever be in love with that river. After his marriage he started his career at JHMR as Assistant Director to Shirley Jones in the Ski Host Department. He worked briefly in lift ops and eventually was hired for summer trail crew and winter ski patrol. That led to decades of dedication to the ski area and his love of explosives. He was known as the Master Blaster. The sudden onset of illness that forced his early retirement in August left a gaping hole in the "worker fabric" and he will be sorely missed.
His family wishes to thank all who made his last days memorable with visits, phone calls, kind words, the sharing of great memories and a true show of friendship. He loved you all.
