Darlene Finley

September 19, 1944 — October 11, 2013

Darlene Finley passed away October 11, 2013 at the age of 69 after a tenacious battle with Ovarian Cancer. Darlene's memorial will take place Saturday November 9, 2013 at Enzo's Restaurant in LaPorte, Indiana from 2:30-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund through the American Cancer Society. Darlene Carol Koselke Finley was born September 19, 1944 in Wanatah, Indiana to Genevieve and Robert Bos. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Michigan City and attended Indiana University. Darlene met her husband, Charles at IU and they were married February 4, 1962. After starting her family, Darlene quit teaching and became very active with charitable organizations in the LaPorte area, until she and Charles moved more permanently to the mountains in Wyoming. She then became active with CES (Community Entry Services), an organization which assists disabled and troubled children to lead a healthy life in Jackson Hole. Darlene loved to needlepoint and collect china, and she was very active socially. She had a passion for entertaining and threw memorable and amazing parties. Christmas, and all the rest of the holidays were always over the top at the Finley house, as she loved to decorate and was so convivial. Guests were always welcome in her home, any time. She was a beautiful woman who had such zeal for life. Darlene is survived by her husband Charles O. Finley Jr. of Chesterton, Indiana, her two daughters Sarah S. (Rolf Jr.) Belden of Jackson, WY and Megan S. Finley of New Carlisle, Indiana, brother Norman Koselke of Honolulu, Hawaii, and her two adorable grandchildren Brianna and Benjamin Belden.
