Carol Argeris

June 6, 1944 — May 18, 2010

Former Jackson native, Carol Brooke Argeris, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in a Phoenix hospital after a brief illness with her son Nick by her side. Brooke will be remembered as a loving friend and mother.

On June 6, 1944, Brooke came into the world as the daughter of Charles and Ethel Beuchener ( Francis). For much of her life she lived with her grandparents, Hazel and Henry Francis at the Home Ranch Motel in Jackson.

As a very young woman, Brooke lost her first husband, Eddie, in a car accident. She later met and married the love of her life, Tom Argeris. They were blessed with a son, Nick. The family built their house south of Jackson alongside the Snake River. In a cruel twist of fate, Brooke was widowed again when Tom lost his battle with cancer.

Brooke was always an adventurous live wire. She learned to fly a plane. She spent a few winters in Africa care taking horse farms and a few winters in Baja. She realized her dream of raising and showing Arabian horses. She was a partner in an art gallery. Patrons at the Virginian liquor store will remember her quick bright smile and sense of humor.

Eventually Brooke married Terry Ross who preceded her in death. She retired in Parker, Arizona. Brooke's son and her friends feel lucky to have had her in their lives. She was a bright spot we can all think of and smile.

Funeral services will be on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Jackson.
